The One Rule I Would Implement... - I would implement a rule that in order to complain about something, you have to have to have an idea for a solution on doing something about it. I love social media. But it's become a place where too many complain but have nothing to offer on how to solve it (and I can be guilty of it too). Just complaining doesn't help no one or the situation in general. Okay so this is obviously a sign I need to step away from social media for a bit...
Bald or Hair Head to Toe... - Sorry I thought we needed an odd question. Without a question for me bald! When my hair gets too long (believe or not for me, it gets too long), it drives me nuts! I couldn't image hair from my head down to my toes. I'd rather just go bald (that and it makes getting ready in the morning a whole lot easier).
Feeling Behind Right Now? That's OK - I know some of you have expressed to me right now that you are feeling behind with all of your classes. And this makes sense as I'm starting to see lower turn ins for assignments and many assignments coming in late. I can't speak for other teachers but I will say this for my class....that's ok! I get it right now. Classes are still giving you a lot of work. Lack of motivation is sinking in more and more each day. Just do your best to keep up. If you are behind in our lessons, just focus on getting caught up. Just like today: if you aren't ready to start the assignment today because you still need to complete the Pong Tutorials and Customizations, then focus on that. Remember for my class (I can't speak for your other classes), missing assignments are NOT dropping your grade right now.

Today's Tasks/Assignment:
Customization of "Asteroids" - Like we've done in all our games, you are going to customize your Asteroids tutorial (click the GIF on the right to see what I created). However, there's a quick video I want you to watch today on a feature I want you to add to your new game:
Create a copy of your original "Asteroids" tutorial (remember you would remix)
Like last week, think of a theme you want to make your new game
Watch the video you see on the bottom right on how to add a life meter to your game (to allow you to last longer in the game). For the life meter, you choose the settings (color, value, placement of where).
Replace your spaceship, asteroids, and background with something from the web to match your theme
Similar to before, feel free to use the Ready Games assets if your web images keeps freezing when you try to download. But do your best to add web images so you add your own style to it.
Add (1) sound or background music
Add a score to your game (both the asset to show the score as well as an event where when you destroy an asteroid, your score will increase by one)
Create an event when the game will end (for both when their health reaches zero AND if they get to a certain score)
Add another event to your game of your choice (for my game, when the player reaches a score of 15, their health automatically goes to full)
Give your newly customized game a new name, new description, and new cover picture.
Turn in both your Asteroids Tutorial and Asteroids Customization to the forms you see below
Click above to play "Asteroids - Star Wars Edition" (sound effects would have been perfect here; but my computer kept freezing when downloading them)
