Which Would I Rather Lose... - This was a tougher question than I thought. I would probably have to say I would rather lose the pictures. So much of my memorable pictures are in my head and I could live without physically seeing them. Without money and valuables, it would be tough to take new pictures (thus taking a snapshot of those memories). Curious to see what all of you will say as this is a tough one...
One Place I Want to Travel To... - That's tough...there are so many places I want to travel to! I would love to cheat and say "Europe" in general but I know that's broad. I would probably pick Great Britain where it's so rich in history and has some breathtaking scenery (the pictures I see of Ireland are incredible). Plus being a sports fan, it would be incredible to see the passion of football over there.
Last Day for Missing Work - Even though we are a few weeks away, it's important to start talking about when late work is due. All missing work needs to be turned in as soon as you can get it into me. However the last day I will accept ANY missing work is Friday, May 15th. It's important to understand I will NOT accept ANY missing work after this date. The following week is finals week and I want you to be able to know what your updated grade is going into turning in the final project (which we'll be talking about soon).

Today's Tasks/Assignment:
Introduction to "Space Wars" - As I mentioned in the Remind message the other day, the game "Space Wars" might sound familiar to you. That's because we talked about it in the movie "Video Games: The Movie" at the start of the school year. Space Wars was arguably the 1st video game made back in 1962 by students at MIT (again as you might remember from the movie, this is debatable). It's a simple two-player game where the objective is to defeat the other player in head-to-head combat. The original (as you can imagine) was not very exciting. As we have done with all these classic games (Pong, Asteroids, etc.), your goal here is going to be creating this simple game while of course, making it much better looking than the original black & white version.
Watch the Video - Watch the video you see on the right to get an idea of what the Space War game is.
Complete the "Space Wars" Tutorial - This tutorial is a bit longer than the others we have done so it's not expected that you complete all of this in one day. I know some of you have missed actually watching a tutorial to help you build the game. If that person is you, you will be happy to know that today you can either follow along in the slide show (as you see below) or by watching the series of short videos on YouTube. Your choice.
Click here for the YouTube page with all the videos you can watch on these directions (I promise they are all short videos; even though there is a fair number of them). I would advise starting with Video #3
Even though it shows 26 videos, you may end up skipping half of these videos. What they do here is show you one video giving you general directions then the next video goes more in detail on what you should have done (walking you through the steps). So it's possible if you feel good about ReadyMaker that you may just watch one video and if you have it, skip the next video before getting to the following video with new directions.
