What Is A Daily Boot Up?
When you boot up (or turn on) a computer for the first time during the day, you are getting your computer thinking and ready for use. In our class, your warmups during the first part of class do the exact same thing! Throughout the school year, your Daily Boot Ups (also known as your warmups) will either help review material we looked at the day before or serve as an introduction to the topic we will discuss that day. Daily Boot Ups are also important indicators as to what I will ask on a quiz so make sure to look them over (as well as your notes).
Your Daily Boot Ups will be completed on my blog that's connected with this website. On days you are absent from class, you are still responsible for the Daily Boot Up you missed (if there was one; always check my blog). As such throughout the semester, I will always have a running list of the Daily Boot Ups that need to be completed.
Your Daily Boot Ups will be part of the "Employability Skills" category of your overall grade for the class. While these Daily Boot Ups will seem like they don't affect your grade much (the average Daily Boot Up will be between 10-20 points each), multiple missing entries could be the difference between the grade you could get (for example A-) and the grade you end up receiving (for example B+). Please make sure to complete these entries on a timely basis.
